How to select your first Gen training?
When you are not familiar with the Gen environment it might be difficult to select the right training you need. As a starting Gen developer you will need one of the following trainings:
However, how can you select the right one? In the summary below you can read what our advice is for the several situations.
1. Fast Track Gen This training will teach you the most important diagrams and concepts with hands on skills. You will be able to work in a project, but will need supervision and assistance of an experienced developer. Take this training if you cannot stay away from your team more than one week. Additional training may be needed.
2. Basic Developer This traing provides you with the basic knowledge and skills a Gen developer should have. It discusses all standard topics which a regular Gen application will include. Take this training when you become a member of a regular Gen project team developing application systems. After this training you may need additional training for specialist topics.
3. Allround Developer This training includes all parts of the Basic Developer training plus the analysis diagrams which are not discussed in the Basic Developer training. Also the strategy of developing applications using the Component Based Development methodology is discussed. Many hands on tasks will give you all necessary skills. You should take this training when you have to model business specifications and applications in your Gen model.
