Gen for the Designer - Analyst
Objective
Analysts and designers transform the business and user requirements into the system design. The functional design is modeled using the Gen diagrams of the analysis and design stage.
The objecive of this course is to train the student to model the results of analysis and design in Gen. Then the programmers will have a perfect start to build the systems. To enable a good comunication with other Gen developers an overview of the Gen area is part of the course.
Contents
The course includes the following subjects:
- Overview Gen
- Data modeling in Gen: entity types, attributes, relationships
- Data model and database design, logical and technical data model
- Processmodeling using Gen
- Functions, processes, data views, group views
- System design,
- Procedures, action blocks, view matching
- Action diagramming
- Client server design
- Generation of a test database
- Design and construction of a basic application
At your request the course can be tailored to include and discuss only the diagrams which are really used in your projects. After the theory presentations many hands on tasks are performed. The student will have much hands on experience.
Duration
The standard duration of the course is 5 days.
Prerequisites
The student must have experience as a designer or analyst.
