All Round Gen Developer
Objective
The objective of the course is to train the student as an All Round Developer using Gen. He will get a very profound knowledge of Gen and the principles of modeling in Gen. He has more comprehensive and better practical skills than the Basic Gen Developer. A greater Gen area is part of his competence so that he is immediately available for several types of Gen application projects.
On completion of the training the student will be able to start in a Gen development project immediately, performing all design and construction tasks.
Contents
The programme starts with the Basic Gen Developer programme and is extended with the following subjects:
- Data modeling, Details of ETs, attributes and relationships
- Transformation and generation of a database
- Details of the Data Structure List, Data Store List
- System design, Procedures and Procedure Steps
- Windows and dialog boxes,
- More details on action diagram and action diagram statements
- Client server design
- Load module packaging
- Activity Hierarchy
- Function and Process modelling
- All Analysis products and its origin
- Details of the Encyclopedia functions
- More complex database actions (extended READ-statements)
- Performance aspects of DB actions
- Procedure copy with substitution
- Advanced GUI features (statements en events)
After discussion of the theory many hands on exercises guarantee that the student has achieved a good level of practical skills.
Duration
The standard duration is 15 days.
If the student has attended the training for Basic Gen Developer the duration of the addition training is 5 days.
Prerequisites
The student has to be familiar with the concepts of system development.
